14 Women’s Business Centers Receive Grants Totaling $2.7 Million from SBA’s Office of Women’s Ownership

“The Association of Women’s Business Centers (AWBC) commends the Small Business Administration (SBA) for issuing $2.7 million in grants for 14 established Women’s Business Centers (WBCs) under the SBA’s Office of Women’s Business Ownership (OWBO). These WBCs will work alongside OWBO to utilize this funding to further support women adversely affected by the COVID-19 pandemic, by providing them with capital access opportunities, technical training, and business consulting. While the AWBC recognizes the increased $2.7 million in funding is a critical step towards increasing the efficiency of the WBC program, we continue to call upon lawmakers in Congress to support efforts to modernize and reauthorize the program writ large. If modernized, the WBC program will more effectively support the path towards recovery for women-owned businesses nationwide.”
