AWBC Member Spotlight: Welcoming Mujeres Latinas Unidas Foundation

Today, we are excited to introduce you to a new member of the Association of Women’s Business Centers (AWBC) network—Mujeres Latinas Unidas Foundation. This incredible non-profit foundation is dedicated to empowering, connecting, and supporting Latina women in Arizona.
At the heart of their mission is a commitment to promoting well-being, education, and leadership. Through a variety of events, workshops, and programs, Mujeres Latinas Unidas encourages both personal and professional growth, all while celebrating the rich cultural heritage of the Latina community. Their goal? To inspire and transform lives, equipping women with the tools and opportunities needed to reach their full potential.
But that’s not all. The foundation strives to build an inclusive and equitable community where Latina women are not just participants, but leaders and agents of change. And they are doing it by focusing on four key pillars that guide their mission.
Let’s take a closer look at these core pillars that make Mujeres Latinas Unidas Foundation such a powerful force for change:
Empowering Women Through Four Key Pillars
Mujeres Latinas Unidas Foundation focuses on four key pillars to provide Latina women with the tools, resources, and support they need to succeed:
- Entrepreneurship: Offering mentoring, resources, and networking opportunities to help women launch and grow their businesses, turning ideas into thriving ventures.
- Financial Education: Empowering women with the knowledge and tools to take control of their finances, build confidence, and secure their economic future.
- English Classes: Providing language classes that break down barriers, boost confidence, and open doors to better jobs and community integration.
- Mental Health: Prioritizing emotional well-being with support and resources to foster mental health and resilience.
From a Facebook Group to a Community Movement
What began as a simple Facebook group called Mujeres Latinas en Arizona has blossomed into something truly extraordinary. Fast forward to March 2025, and this vibrant online community now boasts over 25,000 members, each of whom contributes to a powerful network of Latina women in Arizona, united by their shared experiences and a desire for connection, support, and advocacy.
Seeing the potential for something even bigger, the founders of this group decided to take the next step: turning their vision into a nonprofit organization. And so, in November 2024, Mujeres Latinas Unidas Foundation was born. The foundation was created to deepen the impact of that original Facebook group and extend its mission beyond the digital world into tangible real-world opportunities for Latina women in Arizona. Thanks to an exciting collaboration with Arizona State University, the foundation now serves all towns in Arizona and operates offices in Phoenix, Chandler, Scottsdale, and Mesa.
What started as a virtual space for dialogue and mutual encouragement has quickly transformed into a powerful movement—a movement that’s creating real change, building stronger connections, and providing essential resources to help Latina women unlock their full potential.
