Association of Women’s Business Centers Names Hana Scott as Chief Operating Officer

Washington, D.C. – The Association of Women’s Business Centers (AWBC), the national association representing more than 140 Women’s Business Centers across the United States, is pleased to announce the appointment of Hana Scott as its Chief Operating Officer.
In this role, Scott will oversee organizational operations, lead strategic initiatives, strengthen internal systems, and build organizational capacity to support AWBC’s continued growth and its mission of empowering Women’s Business Centers to help entrepreneurs start, grow, and scale successful businesses.
Scott brings more than 15 years of executive leadership experience spanning nonprofit management, operations strategy, technology consulting, and entrepreneurship. Throughout her career, she has partnered with mission-driven organizations to improve operational effectiveness, guide organizational transformation, and build sustainable systems that expand impact.
Prior to joining AWBC, Scott founded Pugh Insights, an operations consulting firm that has supported nonprofits, small businesses, and community organizations through strategic planning, change management, process improvement, and organizational development. Her work has focused on helping organizations build the infrastructure needed to grow while remaining responsive to the communities they serve.
“We are thrilled to welcome Hana to the AWBC leadership team,” said Corinne Goble, Chief Executive Officer of AWBC. “As our organization continues to grow, Hana’s expertise in operational strategy, organizational development, and systems leadership will help us strengthen our internal capacity while enhancing the support we provide to Women’s Business Centers nationwide. Her collaborative leadership style and deep commitment to mission-driven work make her an exceptional addition to our team.”
Scott shared her enthusiasm for joining the organization, saying, “Women’s Business Centers are on the front lines of economic opportunity, helping entrepreneurs turn ideas into thriving businesses and strengthening communities in the process. I have spent my career helping organizations run better so their missions can reach the people they were built for. To bring that work to a network of more than 150 Women’s Business Centers is the honor of a lifetime. Women entrepreneurs deserve infrastructure that truly supports them, and I am ready to help AWBC scale that.”
A Baltimore native, Scott holds a bachelor’s degree in Biology from the University of Maryland Eastern Shore. She is a TEDx speaker, entrepreneur, and social impact leader whose work has centered on helping organizations create lasting change through stronger operations. She also proudly serves as First Lady of Baltimore.
Scott’s appointment comes during a period of continued momentum for AWBC as the organization expands its national footprint, strengthens advocacy efforts on behalf of Women’s Business Centers, and increases investment in programs that support women entrepreneurs across the country.
